Eight Oconee schools honored by state officials for exceptional student achievement

Eight Oconee County schools were recently named winners of the 2011 Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) Awards. The awards are presented by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement, and recognize “highest performance” on Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) and the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT).

Four Oconee schools recognized by state school superintendent for excellence

Four Oconee County schools were recently recognized by State Superintendent of Schools John Barge for excellence in student achievement by being named Title I Distinguished Schools.

Oconee County Middle School, Oconee County Primary School, Oconee County Elementary School and Colham Ferry Elementary School were cited by Barge for “showing that high expectations, coupled with effective educators in the building, produce outstanding student achievement.”
